What do you get when you have an author, a caterer and a wonderful gardener in the family? You combine your efforts and join up at the Richmond Farmer’s Market as a family affair!
This past weekend, the Richmond Farmer’s Market opened their doors to welcome all of us, with all safety protocols in place of course in their wonderful way to support local and maybe feel a bit more normal again.
My husband and I ventured out this past Sunday, to support our good friend and local author Michel Weatherall to see his great set up of all his great books he has written or has helped other writers get into the business like Thin Places, the anthology of local authors who wrote their own short stories. If you’re a fan of local and a little bit of sci-fi mixed with scare and good writing, then check out his great booth!
His wonderful wife Jackie was also there with The Mighty Melt and yes it tastes as good as the title sounds. Jackie is a caterer and in today’s pandemic world, she decided to try something new so The Mighty Melt was born with a wide array of yes, you guessed it, mouthwatering gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. I highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken while Keith will be going back the Canadiana 🙂 Add to that the homemade lemonade…..delish!!!
And to round out this family affair, their daughter is also on hand selling herbs and vegetables through Babette’s Blooms. Whether you have a green thumb to plant your own herbs or like me, and just like to eat then this is the perfect gal and spot for you, the newest entrepreneur of the family!
Of course there are more great things to check out like amazing cupcakes, BBQ sauces from Junior and the Kid, and many more other great things, did I mention the cupcakes!!!!
Richmond Village Farmers’ Market provides the opportunity for local producers and artisans to sell their products directly to consumers with the majority of the vendors having the must have of “make, bake, or grow” the products that they sell.
