Today, March 8th, is International Women’s Day.
It’s a global day to recognize and celebrate women’s and girls’ social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. It’s also a time to raise awareness of the progress made towards achieving gender equality and the work remaining to be done.

Governor General Mary Simon will mark International Women’s Day today when she speaks at an event hosted by the Canadian Club of Ottawa and the Women Heads of Diplomatic Mission in Ottawa.
Her Excellency’s address will focus on the importance of women in leadership and creating respectful digital spaces as part of larger gender equality efforts.
